In various fields of expertise Biometris has implemented established methods of analysis into software packages:
- CANOCO Canoco for Windows is the next generation of CANOCO software, the most popular tool for constrained and unconstrained ordination in ecological applications.
- FlexQTL Quantitative Genetics on Pedigreed Populations.
- Genstat procedures and documents. The Biometris GenStat Procedure Library contains procedures in which new and existing statistical methodology is implemented, as well as procedures to make GenStat more user-friendly. The Biometris library can be used and distributed freely. Next to the procedure library manual there are also 2 other documents: a document with the Explanation and Description of the Uncertainty and Sensitivity Analyse (Usage) procedures and a document about the Graphics Possibilities in GenStat (in Dutch).
- MapChart Software for the graphical presentation of linkage maps and QTLs.
- MapQTLSoftware for the mapping of quantitative trait loci in experimental populations. Analyse your QTL experiments with interval mapping, with the powerful MQM mapping (=composite interval mapping), or with a nonparametric method. MapQTL is easy to use, is extremely fast and presents the analysis results in tables and (adjustable) charts, that can be exported to MS-Windows ® text processing and presentation software.
- MCRA, Monte Carlo Risk Assessment In a Monte Carlo dietary risk assessment the risk of exposure to pesticides or other chemicals from the diet is quantified by combining database information on food consumption with database information from monitoring programs for residues of chemicals in food.
The statistical genetics research group of Biometris collaborates with Kyazma b.v. (www.kyazma.nl). Together they will continue the development of the well-known software packages JoinMap® and MapQTL®. While the scientists of Biometris concentrate on developing even more powerful statistical genomics methods, Kyazma will focus on implementing these methods into easy-to-use, stable and fast software. Kyazma also takes care of the distribution of both JoinMap® and MapQTL®, for which you will find all necessary information on the web site of Kyazma b.v. (www.kyazma.nl).
- JoinMap JoinMap provides high quality tools that allow detailed study of the experimental data and the generation of publication-ready map charts. The intuitive MS-Windows ® user interface of JoinMap invites to a better exploration of the data. For instance, you can perform several diagnostical tests, both before and after the actual map calculation, and you can remove potentially erroneous loci and individuals from the map calculations by a simple mouse-click.
